Maryland State Police are offering a reward for information leading to the person who killed a Carroll County truck driver Nov. 15, a spokesman said.
Scott E. Shipley, 28, of the 1900 block of Blacks Schoolhouse Road in Silver Run was found fatally shot about 5 a.m., with multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body, police said. His employer discovered the driver lying beside his tractor-trailer at Gross Trucking in the 400 block of Lucabaugh Mill Road east of Westminster.
The police believe that Shipley was killed between 2:30 a.m. and 5 a.m., said Maj. Greg Shipley, a state police spokesman who is no relation to the victim. Police have neither determined a motive nor identified a suspect, he said.
No weapon has been recovered, but evidence has been collected and is being examined at the state police crime laboratory, he said. Troopers also have interviewed dozens of people who knew Shipley, a longtime county resident who with his wife was expecting a child in February, and who was active in several civic and church groups.
Through Metro Crime Stoppers, police are offering a reward of up to $2,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the case.
Police urge anyone with information about the case to call the Westminster barracks of the state police at 410-386-3000.
