Merritt, Deborah Ann

MS. DEBORAH ANN MERRITT, of Baltimore, MD, passed away peacefully on November 19, 2002, after a long illness. She was 54 years old. She was born April 30, 1948 in Easton, MD, to William T. and the late Marie L. Merritt. Debbie attended public school in Easton before moving to Sabillasville, MD. She attended parochial school at Mother Seton Elementary and St. Josephs High School in Emmitsburg, MD. She graduated St. Josephs High School in 1966, and received her Bachelors Degree from the University of Maryland, College Park in 1970. Ms. Merritt worked for several years as a buyer for Hutzlers department store before returning to school to study medical administration. She worked for over 20 years as a Medical Records Administrator in the Department of Veterans Affairs. Debbie loved her cats and enjoyed craftwork such as jewelry making and pottery and she often made tracheotomy-and-eye-patches for patients in the VA hospitals where she worked. In addition to her father, she is survived by two brothers; Kip Merritt of Frederick, MD and Dr. William T. Merritt, JR. (Helen) of Phoenix, MD; 2 nephews, William T. Merritt III and Ryan B. Merritt and a niece, Caitlin Merritt, all of Phoenix; and an uncle, H.L. Merritt (Doris) of Bel Air, MD. Memorial Services will be held 11:00 A.M.
