A 16-year-old in-line skating across Ritchie Highway in Glen Burnie was struck and killed by a sport utility vehicle Tuesday evening, Anne Arundel County police said.

Eric Lee White of the 300 block of Stiemly Ave. was leaving the Taco Bell near Georgie Avenue when the accident occurred, police said.

White was flown to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center and was pronounced dead about 8:30 p.m., police said. The 17- year-old driver of the Toyota 4Runner, Tyler Eugene Hyatt of Glen Burnie, was not injured, police said. Police are investigating but said alcohol was not a factor in the accident.
