Police investigate report of robbery outside of bank

A man told police he was robbed at gunpoint outside County National Bank on Ritchie Highway late Monday evening, Anne Arundel County police said.

The man told police that the robber, armed with a black semiautomatic handgun, demanded money and threatened the man's life. The robber then grabbed an undisclosed amount of money and wrestled with the victim before fleeing on foot.

A police dog unit picked up a trail near Georgia and Rodgers avenues but lost track of it shortly afterward. No arrest has been made in the case.

Annapolis man, 27, shot in the arm on city street

A man was shot in the arm shortly after midnight yesterday on Madison Street in Annapolis, police said.

Jarron Makell, 27, of the 1100 block of Madison Street told Annapolis police that he heard a shot, began running, then heard two more shots and felt a sting in his arm, police said.

Makell did not call police, but the hospital staff notified officers after they treated him for a gunshot wound to the lower part of his left arm. Makell could not describe his attacker and said he did not know why he was fired upon. No arrests have been made.
