Diane P. Qualls, 43, mortgage manager
Diane P. Qualls, a mortgage manager, died Thursday of a heart ailment at Johns Hopkins Hospital. The East Baltimore resident was 43.
She was the manager of mortgage services at Baltimore County Savings Bank on East Joppa Road in Perry Hall, where she had worked for the past six years. Earlier, she was a Provident Bank of Maryland manager.
Born Diane Ernestine Pittman in Baltimore, she was a 1983 graduate of Dunbar High School. She studied nursing and administration at Baltimore City Community College.
In her 20s she sang in a band that appeared at local taverns. She also enjoyed reading, cooking and sports. She followed the Los Angeles Lakers, Orioles and Ravens.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. tomorrow at First John Tabernacle Baptist Church, Preston and Gay streets.
Survivors include her husband of 23 years, William Qualls; a son, William Qualls Jr. of Baltimore; a daughter, Qiana Hobbs of Baltimore; her mother, Hazel Pittman of Baltimore; two brothers, Douglas Pittman of Las Vegas and Taavon McGraw of Baltimore; and two sisters, Annette Pittman and Teresa Mack, both of Baltimore.
