A Severna Park man convicted of sexually assaulting two girls, ages 5 and 8, was jailed yesterday on charges that he violated his probation by failing to attend anger-management classes.
Karl L. Johnson, 24, also is accused of failing to report to his probation officer, said Assistant State's Attorney Laura S. Kiessling. He is being held on $15,000 bail. A hearing is scheduled for Feb. 3.
Johnson was convicted of rape and battery in 1997 and sentenced to 15 years in prison, with eight years suspended. Circuit Judge Ronald A. Silkworth later reduced the penalty to 18 months. In an unrelated case, Johnson faces assault charges in an attack in July on a woman police described as his fiancee.
