Elisabeth M. Reid, 88, school secretary

Elisabeth M. Reid, a former school secretary, died Saturday of a stroke at the Roland Park Place retirement community, where she had lived for the past two years. She was 88 and had lived in Stevenson in Baltimore County.

In the 1960s and 1970s, Mrs. Reid worked as an administrative secretary for the Valley and Jemicy schools in Baltimore County.

Born in Boston, the former Elisabeth Marshall graduated from Erskine Junior College in Boston.

She was a former member of the Junior League of Baltimore and Green Spring Valley Garden Club. She served on the boards of the Woodbourne Center, Young Audiences and the women's committee of Baltimore Museum of Art. Her volunteer work also included a stint as vice chairwoman of the women's division of the United Way.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, 1401 Carrollton Ave., Ruxton.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, John Reid III; two daughters, Susan Curtiss Reid Mills and Joan Elisabeth Reid, both of Baltimore; and a granddaughter.
