Preschool plans workshop for parents Thursday

Emmanuel Methodist Preschool, 10755 Scaggsville Road (Route 216), will sponsor workshops for parents, educators and child care professionals who care for children ages 2 to 10, "How Can I Help My Child?"

Holiday craft fair slated Sunday at Laurel school

The South Laurel Recreation Council will hold its 27th Annual Holiday Craft Fair from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at Deerfield Run Elementary School and Community Center, 13000 Laurel-Bowie Road, Laurel.

Registration for the council's December holiday workshops for children, families, teen-agers and adults will be available from noon to 4 p.m. at the fair.

The emphasis will be on reducing arthritic pain and stiffness and improving balance. The exercises can be done standing or sitting. The program, "Faces of War," will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. tomorrow. Lee was an Air Force bombardier in Italy, while Flock served in the United States as a Marine staff sergeant.
