Kacsur, Alan R.

ALAN ROBERT KACSUR, 73, of Westminster, died November 5, 2002 at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. Born on July 12, 1929 in Reading, PA., he was the son of the late Andrew and Blanche Dean Kacsur. He was the husband of Tamson Janel Shirk Kacsur, his wife of 46 years. Mr. Kascur was employed as a staff psychologist on the Medical staff of the Disability Division of the U.S. Social Security Administration in Woodlawn. He was a member of the American Psychological Association. He served as a Social Science Research assistant in Clinical Psychology in the U.S. Army Medical Corps during the Korean conflict. He received a Bachelors degree from Albright College and graduate degrees from Temple University in Philadelphia, Pa and Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. After his family, he had a lifelong passion for horses. He was a fox hunter for over 20 years. He was a member of the Howard County Hunting Association and later was Field Master of Plumb Run Hunt in Gettysburg, PA. He was an active Lions Club member, having served as past president of the Charles Carroll Lions Club and treasurer for over 10 years. He was a founding member of the Carroll County Chapter of the American Wine Society. He was a judge for the Maryland Wine Festival and the Maryland State Fair. On Tuesday, October 29, 2002, EVELYN M. KAHN died at home after a long illness. Evelyn was retired from Town & Country Management Co. where she served as Executive Secretary to former C.O.O., Michael H. Rosen. Evelyn survived her husband, Courtney Kahn, who died in 1993. A long-time resident of the Mt. Vernon (Baltimore) area, Evelyn was a frequent patron of the Prime Rib where she dined and entertained her friends. Evelyn was known for her quick wit, generosity and colorful sayings delivered with a Southern flare. She was an avid animal lover, voracious reader, and all-around classy lady, Evelyn will be long remembered and sorely missed by her friends, family and former co-workers.
