Grand jury indicts man in assault, harassment case

THE BALTIMORE SUN

An Anne Arundel County grand jury handed up an indictment Friday accusing a man of racially harassing and assaulting two people last month outside their Brooklyn Park home.

Johnny Lee Mitchell, 20, of the 900 block of Victory Ave., also in Brooklyn Park, is accused in a nine-count indictment of threatening a man taking out his trash Oct. 15.

Police allege that a rifle-wielding Mitchell, with a juvenile, called the man a "Middle Eastern Osama bin Laden" and other slurs before threatening to kill the man and a relative.

The man was not physically injured.

A neighbor called police, according to charging documents.
