THE BALTIMORE SUN

No. 10 Patterson assured itself of at least a share of the Baltimore City 4A football title with a 22-8 victory over No. 13 Walbrook last night at Utz Twardowicz Field.

A win over Lake Clifton on Friday would clinch the title for the Clippers (7-2). The Warriors (6-3) saw their six-game winning streak come to an end.

Junior Thomas Smith (15 carries for 86 yards) got Patterson off to a good start with a 1-yard scoring run in the first quarter.

Quarterback Raymond Okadigbo culminated a 14-play drive with a 5-yard quarterback keeper to make the score 14-0.

"We knew we were in for a battle," said Clippers coach Roger Wrenn. "This was two really rough, tough teams and a big battle in the trenches, but we showed an awful lot of heart."
