THE BALTIMORE SUN

Dulaney won the Baltimore County badminton championship, 8-3, over four-time defending champion Pikesville yesterday at Dulaney.

The last time Pikesville lost in the county championship was in 1997, also to Dulaney.

Dulaney won all six singles matches (three boys, three girls) and both girls double matches. Pikesville won both boys doubles matches and the mixed doubles.

Dulaney's singles winners were Josh Chang, Kevin Smith, Phil Isett, Ying Tao, Samantha Judge and Bre Rigger.

"They really outplayed us," said Pikesville coach Marlene Honkofsky. "They were the stronger team."

Both teams were undefeated in divisional play this season.
