Fairwood
Seven prominent homebuilders have just opened models at the new planned community of Fairwood in Prince George's County.
Formerly Fairwood Turf Farm, the property will be transformed into a development encompassing 1,000 acres. With dozens of floor plans available, depending upon the builder, the homes reflect traditional East Coast and Colonial styles. A variety of recreational activities are to be available, along with retail and commercial services.
Columbia-based Rouse Co., general partner in the development partnership, will preserve open space and woodlands. There will be 7.5 miles of pathways and park-like settings that are unique to the farm property. Ultimately, Fairwood will include 1,799 single-family homes.
Prices range from the mid-$300,000s to about $700,000. Sizes will range from 2,200 square feet to 5,000 square feet.
In addition, each homeowner will become a member of the Sycamore Club at Fairwood, which will include access to exclusive recreational activities, a clubhouse, swimming and tennis.
The Fairwood model-home park is between Annapolis and Washington at the intersection of Routes 193 and 450.
