HALL SR. , Charles B. On Tuesday, October 22, 2002, CHARLES B. HALL, SR. , 86, of Baltimore, MD. Charles was born March 31, 1916, in Baltimore, MD, to George W. Hall and Carrie Hilda Richards Hall. He served as a seaman in the U. S. Merchant Marine from 1937 to 1939. Upon his discharge he worked as a firefighter and fire captain for the Bethlehem Steel Fire Service, protecting the construction of Liberty ships at the Fairfield Shipyard from 1940 to 1946. He was commissioned as a Baltimore City firefighter on May 23, 1946 and served as a firefighter and pump operator at 58 Engine and 5 Hose Company. He retired from the active fire service on March 31, 1976. Mr. Hall was predeceased in death by his wife of 51 years, June, in December 1991. He is survived by his brother Melvin and two sisters, Nellie and Jeanette; four sons, Charles Jr. and wife Betty of Canton, OH, Paul and wife Carolyn of Linthicum, George and wife Sharon of Fort Walton Beach, FL and Geoffrey and wife Evelyn of Baltimore. He was the proud grandfather of 11 grandchildren (Charles, Elizabeth, John, Jennifer, Trevor, David, Christopher, Michael, Kristin, Corey and Josh)and four great-grandchildren.
