Council votes to name library after Klocko

THE BALTIMORE SUN

Anne Arundel County Council members voted unanimously last night in favor of naming the new Crofton library after former council member John J. Klocko III, who was killed Oct. 5 in a two-car accident in Utah.

Klocko worked for close to a decade to build the library, and council members said it would be a fitting tribute to him.

However, Anne Arundel County Public Library board President Howard L. Stern said that it is the board's policy not to name libraries after residents.

Stern said the library board has voted for a plaque in memory of Klocko to be displayed in the library foyer instead.
