He received a Bachelors and Masters degree from George Washington University. He retired in 1995 as Executive Vice President of E.I. Kane, Inc. in Baltimore. He was a Certified Public Accountant with Pat Carey here on Hilton Head Island. He was an active member and treasurer of St. Andrew by-the-Sea United Methodist Church. He was active with the Boys and Girls Club and Second Helping both on Hilton Head Island and past president of Maryland Motor Truck. He served on the Board of Country Club on Hilton Head. He is survived by his wife Susan Thompson Lash; son and daughter-in-law Mark and Holly Schmidt Lash of Ellicott, MD; brother and sister-in-law Suzanne Lash and John Wertz of Mt. Pleasant, SC and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Frank and Frances Thompson of Lewistown, PA.
