Deborah A. Armstrong, an oil burner repairer who rescued stray animals, died of a stroke Sunday at her Overlea home. She was 45.

Born in Baltimore, she was raised in Overlea and was a 1975 graduate of Overlea High School.

She had been employed by Hoffberger Oil Co. since 1997.

An animal lover, she cared for stray cats and dogs, which she nursed back to health and then placed in homes.

Miss Armstrong also was an avid motorcyclist, and enjoyed taking trips on her Harley.

Services will be held at 9 a.m. today at Lassahn Funeral Home, 7401 Belair Road.

She is survived by her father, Robert L. Armstrong Sr. of Overlea; two brothers, Robert L. Armstrong Jr. of Churchville and Steven L. Armstrong of Rosedale; her stepmother, Amy Armstrong of Overlea; and several nephews and nieces.
