Doughty preceded her in death in 2001. Mrs. Doughty was a loving mother and grandmother. She was a Towson High School graduate and a graduate of Indiana University Naval Training School. She was a sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corp. She retired from Baltimore County Public Library. She had previously lived in Nanticoke and was an avid golfer at Green Hill Yacht and Country Club. She is survived by a daughter and her husband, Shan M. and Kenneth R. Vickers Jr., of Laurel; a son, George Gary McLain of Salisbury; two grandchildren: Trina M. Baer and W. Ryan Baer; one great-grandchild; Tristin Faith Baer; two brothers and their wives: Elwood Vernon and Virginia Lyon of Cockeysville, MD and Richard A. and Pat Lyon of Abingdon, MD; and several nieces and nephews.
