Fair will provide opportunity to meet purchasing agents
The Economic Development Committee of the Baltimore-Washington Corridor Chamber of Commerce invites local business owners to meet purchasing agents from local, state and federal government agencies at its 11th Annual Procurement Fair. The event will be from 8 a.m. to noon Oct. 23 at the Conference Center at Cedar Ridge, near Route 198 and U.S. 29 in Spencerville.
Those who attend can find out what agencies are buying, register to receive bid requests, obtain information on minority certification and learn what subcontractors may be needed by prime contractors.

Businesswomen's group meeting today for dinner
The Columbia chapter of the American Business Women's Association will meet for dinner at 6:30 p.m. today the Sheraton Hotel in Columbia. Del. Gail H. Bates, a Howard Republican, will speak.

Computer consultants planning dinner meeting
The Independent Computer Consultants Association, Maryland chapter, will sponsor a dinner meeting at 6 p.m. Nov. 12 at Michael's Pub, 8630 Guilford Road, in the Kings Contrivance village, Columbia.
The topic is "Survival Experiences of IT Consultants: A Reality Show."
Tickets are $10 for members; $15 for nonmembers, until Nov. 9. A $5 surcharge will be applied for reservations after that date.
