Freshman quarterback Zach DiIonno threw for 180 yards and two touchdowns and guided Johns Hopkins on four scoring drives that covered more than 70 yards as the Blue Jays defeated Ursinus, 27-9, yesterday at Patterson Field in Collegeville, Pa.

The win is the seventh straight for the Blue Jays (5-0, 2-0 Centennial Conference) dating back to last season. The winning streak ties the school record, set in 1892 and matched twice previously.

The 5-0 mark matches the Blue Jays' best start since 1931. Ursinus falls to 1-4, 0-3.

Frostburg State 37, Wesley 18: Junior Edward Kearney (Calvert Hall) ran for 122 yards and scored three touchdowns to lead the host Bobcats (3-2, 2-0) over the two-time defending Atlantic Central Football Conference champion Wolverines (3-2, 0-1).

Frostburg ended a two-game losing streak to Wesley and improved to 8-2 in the all-time series. The Wolverines' nine-game conference winning streak was broken.

Salisbury 35, Chowan 7: Freshman quarterback Dustin Johnson and senior fullback Reggie Boyce each rushed for more than 100 yards and scored two touchdowns apiece as the Sea Gulls (6-0) beat the visiting Braves (0-5).

Salisbury, which entered the game with the top-ranked rushing offense in Division III, finished with 375 yards on the ground and capitalized on eight turnovers.

Hampton 49, Bowie State 0: Travis Hailes turned in his second consecutive 100-yard game and added three touchdowns to lead the Pirates (4-2) to a homecoming victory over the Bulldogs (4-3). It was the 150th victory for Hampton coach Joe Taylor.

Bowie State quarterbacks Maurice Hill and Jabali Smith were sacked a combined seven times. Hill completed 13 of 26 passes for 140 yards.
