Craig Bernard Knell, 35, electrical technician

Craig Bernard Knell, an electrical technician and science fiction buff, died of kidney failure Friday at Northwest Hospital Center. He was 35 and lived in Randallstown.

Born in Baltimore and raised in Randallstown, he was a 1985 graduate of Calvert Hall College High School. He also earned an associate's degree from Catonsville Community College.

For many years, Mr. Knell was employed as a medical equipment repairman. At his death, he was working as an electrician for Motorola in Baltimore.

Mr. Knell was an avid science fiction reader and builder of model spaceships.

He also enjoyed collecting vintage Superman and Spider-Man comics and listening to classic rock music and attending concerts.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. tomorrow at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home, 1212 W. Liberty Road, Winfield.

Mr. Knell is survived by his mother, Joanne McGrath Knell of Randallstown; a brother, Matthew E. Knell of Finksburg; and a sister, Cindy L. Fox of Ellicott City. Another brother, Edward J. Knell, died in 1992.
