Leaving leaves in the street is illegal, officials caution

TOWSON -- Baltimore County officials remind residents that raking or blowing leaves into the street or gutter is illegal and could endanger children, contibute to a fire or clog drains.

Residents are urged to compost, mulch or set out bagged leaves for collection. Leaves will be collected on regularly scheduled yard waste pickup days. Those days are marked with a "Y" on trash and recycling schedules distributed to households.
