A man found badly beaten Saturday in Annapolis died yesterday at Maryland Shock Trauma Center. It was the city's second homicide within a month.
Police said a resident discovered Joseph A. Tasker, 40, of no fixed address about 7:30 a.m. Saturday in the side yard of a home in the first block of Stewart Ave. Tasker had suffered severe facial and head injuries, police said. He was flown to Shock Trauma, where he died at 4:40 a.m. yesterday.
Robbery is not suspected as a motive in the attack because Tasker had money in his possession when he was found, said Officer Hal Dalton, a police spokesman. Dalton said Tasker's death appears unrelated to the killing of an Annapolis man during a carjacking Sept. 19 outside the man's home in the historic district.
