Meeting set Thursday on man's killing

THE BALTIMORE SUN

Howard County police will hold a public meeting at 7 p.m. tomorrow to discuss last week's killing in an Oakland Mills apartment complex.

At the meeting, to be held at The Other Barn at 5881 Robert Oliver Place in Oakland Mills Village Center, police will talk about the investigation of the killing of Edwin Rudolph Aytes.

Aytes, 49, was fatally shot about 7:30 p.m. Friday on the ground-level stairwell of his building in the 9600 block of White Acre Road.

Police say they have no firm leads and hope the meeting will prompt people to step forward with tips about the crime.

"We're trying to solicit information from anybody who has it," said Pfc. Denise Walk, a department spokeswoman.

Anyone with information is urged to call 410-313-2283.
