Harford County opens Village of Lakeview
Harford County is opening the Village of Lakeview, a restored affordable-housing development that will provide 223 units of affordable rental housing to low- and moderate-income families and individuals in the county.
The $18 million redevelopment project occupies a 12-acre site in Edgewood. The project was led by Silver Street Development Corp. of Maine and financed by a tax-exempt bond investment from Enterprise Mortgage Investments Inc., and by a tax-credit equity from the Enterprise Social Investment Corp., Allfirst Bank and Fannie Mae.
The project is earmarked for renters earning less than 60 percent of the area median income of $63,000. It has 15 garden-style buildings with 43 one-bedroom units, 156 two-bedroom units and 24 three-bedroom units.
The site was formerly the Edgewater Village Apartments.
