Maryland offense vs. Wofford defense: Terps quarterback Scott McBrien is coming off his best game and his first 300-yard passing game. Senior tailback Chris Downs continues to be effective in place of the injured Bruce Perry, and Terps receivers like Scooter Monroe and Steve Suter are looking to build on their best game as a unit. The Terriers have allowed only 4.3 points a game.

Maryland defense vs. Wofford offense: The Terps will be all about defending the run against Wofford's wingbone offense, led by running back Jesse McCoy, who has averaged 9.1 yards each time he has touched the ball in his career. But it all starts with the triple-option reads of quarterback Jeff Zolman. The Terps' front seven, led by linebackers E.J. Henderson and Leon Joe and tackles Randy Starks and C.J. Feldheim, should rack up lots of tackles.

Special teams: Suter is leading the ACC in kickoff return average and is fourth in all-purpose yard average. Kicker Nick Novak has made five of seven field-goal attempts and is getting touchbacks on kickoffs consistently. Jesse McCoy, Wofford's best running back, is also its top return man.
