A Baltimore County man allegedly stabbed his 18-year-old son to death Saturday night after an argument, then waited in his kitchen for police to arrive, authorities said.
Alan Dwight Palmer, 56, was charged with first-degree murder in the death of Cory Brent Palmer at their Baltimore Highlands home. He was being held without bail yesterday at the Baltimore County Detention Center in Towson, said county police Sgt. Edward Forbes.
A bail review hearing is scheduled for today.
Father and son lived in a yellow, single-story house in the 2900 block of Illinois Ave. in the southwestern Baltimore County community.
Police said the son was stabbed in the chest shortly before 9 p.m. Saturday, and that the father surrendered without incident when police arrived in response to a 911 call from the house.
Cory Palmer died a short time later at Maryland Shock Trauma Center.
Forbes said he did not know what led to the stabbing, which was reported by telephone at 8:50 p.m., Forbes said.
