The northbound lanes of the Jones Falls Expressway between 29th and Gay streets will be closed from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday for the fifth annual Jones Falls Valley Celebration, the city Office of Transportation announced.

Detour routes will be posted, and motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes.

The annual event, which includes an 8K race, allows participants to walk, jog, bike or skate along the closed-to-traffic lanes to celebrate the blend of city and wilderness.
