Wine of the week

THE BALTIMORE SUN

2001 Dry Creek Fume Blanc, Sonoma County ($13). How dull and predictable. Another vintage, another rave review for Dry Creek's ultra-reliable fume blanc. This year's version is crisp, lively and dry - with hints of pear, mint, lime, wood smoke and minerals. It shows wonderful bite, a long finish and an unusual degree of complexity for a wine at this price. It would match well with grilled seafood, vegetable dishes or Cajun seasonings.
