The state is accepting applications for the three-day muzzleloader deer hunt at Wye Island Natural Resources Management Area in Queenstown.

The hunt for physically handicapped sportsmen and women is Oct. 18, the women-only hunt is Oct. 19 and the youth hunt is Oct. 20.

Applications can be found in the 2001-2002 Maryland Hunting and Trapping Guide or on line at www.dnr.state.md.us. A $5 nonrefundable service charge must accompany the application.

The deadline is 4:30 p.m. Saturday, with the drawing Sept. 18.

All deer killed during the hunt are considered part of the daily and season bag limits.
