Angels update

Funny how the Angels have won seven straight games and 10 of their past 12, but aren't even the hottest team in their division. The Oakland Athletics won't allow them to gain any ground in the American League West unless the A's are idle, but the Angels have built a four-game lead in the wild-card race. Their 85-54 record is the best in franchise history, and most of the jinx talk has subsided. The Orioles were swept in a three-game series in Anaheim over the weekend, after taking two of three in early July. Lackey and Callaway beat them last weekend, with Callaway taking a no-hitter into the sixth. David Eckstein has hit in 13 of his past 14 games, and 22 of 24, lifting his average to .300. Troy Glaus led Anaheim with 21 RBIs in August.
