Rosalia M. Nickol, 86, MVA clerk, caregiver

Rosalia M. Nickol, a retired state Motor Vehicle Administration clerk and longtime Northwood resident, died of sepsis Sunday at Good Samaritan Hospital. She was 86.

Born and raised in East Baltimore, Miss Nickol was a graduate of St. James Roman Catholic Parochial School.

For many years, she was a homemaker and caregiver for her mother and sister, and after their deaths she went to work in 1962 as a sales clerk in the fine needlework department of Stewart's department store downtown.

In 1967, she left to become a file clerk in the title department of the MVA in Glen Burnie. She retired in 1980.

Miss Nickol enjoyed attending family gatherings, watching golf on television and travel.

She was a member of St. Matthew Roman Catholic Church, 5401 Loch Raven Blvd., where a Mass of Christian burial will be offered at 10 a.m. today.

Miss Nickol is survived by a brother, Lawrence J. Nickol of Medford, N.Y.; a sister, Maria E. Kirk of Lutherville; and many nephews and nieces.
