Angels update

The Orioles took two of three from the Angels at Edison Field when these teams met in early July. Otherwise, Anaheim has been extremely tough at home. The Angels entered last night's game against Tampa Bay with 41 wins in their past 58 home games. The Angels have long played second fiddle to the Dodgers in the Los Angeles market, but there have been 11 sellouts at Edison Field this season, breaking the franchise record of 10. Even though the Angels are fighting tooth and nail for a playoff spot with the Oakland Athletics and Seattle Mariners, Anaheim doesn't have a bona fide Most Valuable Player candidate. Garrett Anderson entered last night batting .308 with 21 home runs and 98 RBIs, but Troy Glaus' numbers are down this season-.248, 22, 86. Adam Kennedy has been Anaheim's hottest hitter of late, with hits in 20 of his past 22 games entering last night. Kennedy hit .392 in that span.
