Outlook: Conway and Alston are two of the most talented Division II players in the nation, leading a go-for-broke Bulldogs defense that was first in the nation last season in D-II passing efficiency defense (108.1 yards per game) and sixth in total defense (239.3). This is one of the most exciting defensive-minded teams in the country to watch, thanks to a gifted special teams unit. The Bulldogs blocked six punts, returning two for touchdowns, last season; rejected two extra-point attempts, and blocked one field-goal attempt. With almost everybody returning from last season's team that won seven of its last eight games, one has to wonder why Bowie is ranked no higher than No. 52 nationally in the preseason D-II poll.
