Long's Park festival is arts and crafts standout

THE BALTIMORE SUN

Are you a fine-art fiend? Do you covet crafts? If so, you're in for a treat at the Long's Park Art & Craft Festival, which runs tomorrow through Monday in Lancaster, Pa.

The people who run this annual event say it showcases only the best of the best. From a pool of 1,200 applicants, this year's festival accepted 200 exhibitors, whose wares include ceramics, paintings, apparel, jewelry, woodworks, glassworks and photography.

Children attending can create their own works of art - with help from folks from the Pennsylvania School of Art & Design. And they can visit the petting zoo and playgrounds. There also will be round-the-clock live music and gourmet foods for all.

The event has been ranked the best fine-art and craft show in the Northeast by "The Harris List" and rates as the second-best fine craft show in the United States by Sunshine Artist magazine.

The Long's Park Art & Craft Festival runs 10 a.m.-6 p.m. tomorrow-Sunday and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday at Long's Park, at the Harrisburg Pike/Park City Center Exit off U.S. 30, Lancaster. $8; free for ages 12 and under. $10 admission is good for all four days. Advance tickets are available for $6; $8 for all four days. Call 717-295-7054.
