Fall descends with a flurry of parties

It's nearly September. That means the fall colors will soon be seen in all their splendor. But we're not talking foliage here. These are the hues of satin, chiffon and taffeta outfits that will be floating and swishing through the throngs at a passel of fall parties.

This is the time of year when many Baltimore-area nonprofits throw their annual fund-raisers - a party season that goes strong through November. So check out the list below and make plans to join the festivities.

Sept. 8
