AirTran plans to add flights to Atlanta and to Rochester, N.Y.

AirTran Airways will add one daily flight between BWI and Rochester, N.Y., and a daily flight between BWI and Atlanta on Oct. 8. The Orlando, Fla.-based airline now offers two daily flights to Rochester and four to Atlanta.

AirTran began flying from BWI in December with three flights to Boston and three to Atlanta. In October, AirTran will offer 25 flights from BWI to eight East Coast destinations, including several Florida cities.

United, Continental to move flight operations to Pier D

United Airlines and Continental Airlines will relocate their flight operations to Pier D at BWI next month, when the reconstruction of Pier A begins as part of the airport's expansion program.

Ticket counters and flight operations will be moved. Retail outlets will also move to Pier D to accommodate travelers.
