Dora May Goebel, 61, insurance firm secretary

Dora May Goebel, a retired secretary and former Northeast Baltimore resident, died Monday of cardiac arrest at Potomac Valley Hospital in Keyser, W.Va. She was 61.

Mrs. Goebel, who was born Dora May Dailey and raised in Mount Washington, graduated from Western High School.

The former Pelham Avenue resident worked as a secretary for Riggs, Warfield and Roloson Inc., a Baltimore insurance company. She was married in 1958 to Jack N. Goebel, who survives her.

After moving to Keyser in 1974, she worked as a proofreader for the News-Tribune and later as a secretary for a real estate company. She retired in 1997.

While living in Baltimore, she was a member of Parkside United Methodist Church.

She was a member of Cabin Run Wesleyan Methodist Church in Keyser, where a memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. today.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Janice E. Goebel and Carol Ann Hannas, both of Keyser; her mother, Edith Dailey of Keyser; three sisters, Edith Price, Wilma Herndon and Linda Rocheq, all of Baltimore; and two grandchildren.
