Ever watched homemade ice cream being churned? Taken a genuine horse-and-buggy ride? Seen grain ground into flour? You'll be able to experience it all and plenty more at the Country Fest and Auction Saturday at the Garrett County Fairgrounds in McHenry.

The family festival, presented by the Dry Run Mennonite Church, will include an array of foods, lots of crafts, music by the Voice of Praise Men's Quartet, kids' activities, a petting zoo and an auction of everything from handmade quilts and Amish-made furniture to an "In-Home Dinner" with a local Mennonite family.

There'll be demonstrations of apple cider pressing, basket weaving, quilting, butter churning, ice cream churning, grain grinding and chair caning. Also, folks of all ages can take hayrides, pony rides, horse-and-carriage rides and horse-and-buggy rides. Kids can get on the Barrels of Fun ride, try the Pedal Tractor Pull, gather up all they can at the Aerial Candy Drop and more.

The Country Fest and Auction runs 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday at the Garrett County Fairgrounds, off U.S. 219, McHenry. Free. Call 301-245-4564.
