Three people found dead in city

THE BALTIMORE SUN

The deaths of three people found on Baltimore streets yesterday in different neighborhoods -- one of them shot, the others from unknown causes -- were under investigation by city homicide detectives.

In the first case, the body of Albert Thomas, 20, of the 3600 block of Elmley Ave. was found lying on a sidewalk about 2:30 a.m. in the 3400 block of E. Fairmount Ave. Police said that he had been shot and that investigators had no suspects.

About 7:20 a.m. in West Baltimore, a man walking in the 3300 block of Powhatan Ave. found the nude body of an unidentified woman in an alley and called 911.

Police said that wounds to the woman's upper body may have been caused by gunshots and that an autopsy was set for today.

Shortly before 8 p.m., Western District officers responding to a report of a "man down" near the 2100 block of Edmondson Ave. found an unidentified man lying dead near railroad tracks. Details were not available.

Anyone with information about the deaths is asked to call the homicide unit at 410-396- 2100.
