Allfirst Bank names Spalding a vice president

Christa L. Spalding has been named vice president and senior commercial branch manager of the St. John's Lane branch of Allfirst Bank.

She will be responsible for building and retaining customer relations, developing clients and identifying the financial needs of small-business owners and their employees for the Ellicott City branch.

Spalding, who has almost 20 years of financial services experience, lives in Howard County. She is a member of the Maryland Bankers Association Leadership and Development Committee, the Business Women's Network, Leadership Howard County's Class of 2000 and the Howard County Chamber of Commerce.

Arc of Howard County elects Arthur Gold

Arthur Gold has been elected president of the board of directors of the Arc of Howard County. Gold is executive director for Best Practice, a consulting company for the pharmaceutical industry.

A Columbia resident, Gold was Howard County Commission on Disability Issues Advocate of the Year in 1998.
