Emma Ellen Williams, 82, Balto. County educator

THE BALTIMORE SUN

Emma Ellen Williams, a longtime Baltimore County educator, died Wednesday at Greater Baltimore Medical Center of complications from a fall. She was 82 and a longtime resident of Lutherville.

The daughter of a stonemason, Miss Williams grew up in Granite and attended Catonsville High School. She graduated from Western Maryland College in 1940.

Miss Williams went on to do graduate work in student counseling at the University of Michigan, said her sister and sole immediate survivor, Kathryn W. Langenfelder of Pinehurst. She then joined the Baltimore County school system, retiring in 1980 as coordinator of counseling services.

An avid bridge player, crossword puzzle solver and reader of biographies and histories, Miss Williams lived in Lutherville from the 1960s until the late 1990s, when she moved to the Oak Crest Village retirement community in Parkville.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. tomorrow at Oak Crest Chapel, 8800 Walther Blvd.
