Western District
Shooting: Police were seeking an unknown gunman who shot another man in the 1700 block of Baker St. about 3:30 p.m. yesterday. The victim was in serious condition at Maryland Shock Trauma Center.
Shooting: A male, 17, was standing with friends in the 1700 block of Retreat St. about 5 p.m. yesterday when a gunman walked up and shot him in the head, said Homicide Detective Bobby Patton. The victim was in critical condition at Shock Trauma.
Southern District
Arrest: A man was walking away from a van in the 200 block of Penn St. after a window was broken by a brick Wednesday. Witnesses called police, Officer Michael Hall arrived and arrested a suspect. Charged with attempted theft was William Burley, 33, of the 1200 block of Washington Blvd.
Southeastern District
Theft: A 16-year-old Northern High School student was arrested Wednesday and accused of stealing a purse from a woman's car while she was stopped on Port Street.
Northeastern District
Theft: An undisclosed sum of cash, a handgun, stereo equipment and an IBM laptop computer were stolen Wednesday from a 1998 Lincoln Navigator parked in the 4700 block of Erdman Ave. The loss was estimated at $9,600.
Baltimore County
Garrison Precinct
Arrests: A girl, 17, was getting out of a car in the 4400 block of Old Court Road about 12:10 a.m. Wednesday when two males robbed her of her purse. A short time later, police arrested Devin Handy, 18, of the 1000 block of Flagtree Lane, and Michael Hawkins, 18, of the 1900 block of Featherbed Lane. They were charged with unarmed robbery and held on $100,000 bond at the county detention center.
