Boys in the sixth, seventh and eighth grades looking to attend and play for private schools in the MIAA Conference are invited to showcase their talents for coaches of the MIAA at the Inaugural Baseball Prospect Showcase, sponsored by Diamond Recruiting. The cost is $100 per prospect. The showcases will be held at Gambrills Athletic Complex on Sept. 15 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and at a soon-to-be mentioned Baltimore County high school on Sept. 22 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Call Lou Holcomb at 410-529-7774.

The Pikesville Soccer Club will conduct tryouts for the fall 2002 season. Girls double-age teams in the 10, 12 and 14-and-under age groups are being formed, with boys single-age teams in the 8 through 14-and-under age groups. The Central Maryland Soccer Association is accepting fall team registrations for the CMSA Saturday League, the Baltimore Metro Boys Sunday League, and the Baltimore Metro Sunday Girls League. All leagues will offer competition in the ages groups of 8 to 18. Games will be scheduled from September to November. The BOLA League is seeking teams or individual players for an outdoor soccer league.
