9-year-old killed in Harford crash

HAVRE DE GRACE - A 9-year-old boy was killed and six other people, including three children, were injured yesterday when two vehicles collided at an intersection.

City police said a 1993 Ford Explorer driven by Louis Stecker, 43, of the 3700 block of Fifth St. in Baltimore, collided with a 1988 Buick driven by Melissa J. O'Brien, 25, of Robin Hood Road in Havre de Grace, at Pulaski Highway and Lewis Lane about 1 p.m.

Pronounced dead at Harford Memorial Hospital was a passenger in the Buick, Jerry Verl Holmes of the first block of Robin Hood Road. Also in the Buick and injured, along with the driver, were Jerry's brother, Jeremy Verl Holmes, 8, Tyler Buchanan, 3, and Brian Davis, 2, all of the Robin Hood Road address, police said.

Stecker and his passenger, Donald H. Cilento, 72, of the 7800 block of Kentley Road in Dundalk, also were injured. The conditions of the injured were not available and the cause of the accident remained under investigation, police said.
