HAGERSTOWN - The team of Skip-Ryan Tendall, in the second group to finish, waited about five hours, then won a sudden-death playoff on the second extra hole to capture their second straight Father-Son championship of the Maryland State Golf Association at Beaver Creek Country Club yesterday.
The Tendalls, from Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, posted a par-matching 36-36-72 and were later joined by Congressional's Ray-Brian Chappell, 36-36-72, and Piney Branch Golf Club's Robert-Robbie Rosenberger, 36-36-72.
The 210-yard, par-3 16th hole was pivotal. The Tendalls made birdie, the Chappells bogey, and the Rosenbergers double bogey.
