Woman, daughter, 7, hurt in bus-car collision in Highland

THE BALTIMORE SUN

A Montgomery County woman and her 7-year-old daughter were hospitalized and listed in serious condition yesterday after a Montgomery school bus struck the driver's side of their Geo Prizm in Highland, Howard County police said.

Jannavi Rajan Srinivasan, 34, and her daughter, Debeanna Srinivasan, both of the 2700 block of Starkey Drive in Brookeville, were westbound on Lime Kiln Road about 12:30 p.m. when, police said, Srinivasan ran a stop sign and drove into the path of the bus.

The bus was northbound on Browns Bridge Road. The Srinivasans were flown to Johns Hopkins Hospital. The bus driver, Michael Edward Waters, 54, of the 1200 block of Harding Lane in Silver Spring, was not injured. There were no passengers on the bus.

No charges had been filed yesterday afternoon. The crash is under investigation.
