Robert A. Spar joins executive board of anti-hunger campaign

Robert A. Spar, a Howard County resident, is a member of the executive committee for the Lawyers' Campaign Against Hunger.

The campaign, in its 15th year, is sponsored by the Center for Poverty Solutions, a nonprofit organization established in 1988 to help feed the hungry in Maryland.

Medicalliance taps Nguyen as scientific affairs manager

Ryan Nguyen, who holds a doctorate in pharmacy from the University of Maryland, was appointed manager of scientific affairs at Medicalliance, a Columbia medical education agency.

He will provide scientific and clinical expertise, perspective and direction to support the educational and promotional needs of the company's pharmaceutical industry partners.

John Hreno joins landscape company

John Hreno joined Chapel Valley Landscape Co. of Woodstock as a residential designer and salesman.

He studied architecture and psychology at the University of Southern California and has worked as project manager and lead designer for residential and commercial properties, amusement parks and botanical gardens.
