Glenn R. Snyder, 63, frozen food executive

Glenn R. Snyder, vice president of merchandising for Burris Food Inc., died of cancer Saturday at York Hospital in York, Pa. He was 63 and lived in Red Lion, Pa.

Born and raised in York Township, Mr. Snyder was a 1956 graduate of Red Lion High School. He served in the Army's 2nd Infantry Division.

He began his career in the food industry working for Stauffer Cookie Outlet and later with the Jewel Tea Co. At his death, he had been vice president for 15 years of Burris Food in Milford, Del.

"Burris Food is a frozen food warehouse, and his work in Baltimore brought him in contact with Giant, Mars, SuperFresh and Acme grocery stores," said his wife of 35 years, the former Margie L. Patton.

An outdoorsman, Mr. Snyder enjoyed hunting, fishing and boating.

He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Brogue, Pa., where services will be held at 11 a.m. tomorrow.

Mr. Snyder also is survived by four brothers, George W. Snyder Jr. of Felton, Pa., Philip W. Snyder of York, and Donald L. Snyder and Jerry W. Snyder, both of Dallastown, Pa.; a sister, Jean E. Paules of York; and several nephews and nieces.
