Frank G. Sraver, 81, accountant, GE manager

Frank G. Sraver, a retired accountant and office manager, died of a cerebral hemorrhage Saturday at Ridgeway Manor Nursing Home in Catonsville. He was 81.

The 30-year Catonsville resident was born in the city and reared in East Baltimore. He graduated in 1938 from Southern High School and earned his bachelor's degree in business from the University of Baltimore in 1942.

During World War II, he served with the 8th Air Force as a staff sergeant. He was discharged in 1945 and returned to Baltimore, where he joined the accounting firm of Wooden and Benson.

From 1948 until 1970, he was the manager of General Electric Corp.'s Baltimore office. From 1970 until retiring in 1978, he was office manager for G.A. Ward, a real estate firm.

Mr. Sraver, who had been treasurer for 25 years of Palestine Lodge No. 189, also served as treasurer of the Catonsville Senior Center from 1984 until 1999. He was a past president of the Catonsville Shrine Club.

Services were held Wednesday.

Mr. Sraver is survived by his wife of 57 years, the former Grace Ward; a son, Frank W. Sraver of Mount Airy; two daughters, Star Rudge of Folsom, Calif., and Sheila Carter of Hanover, Pa.; a brother, George W. Sraver of Parkville; three sisters, Ethel Getz of Middle River, Virginia Landon of Dundalk and Katherine Runyon of Baltimore; and six grandchildren.
